August Tournament

Number four is in the books, The fourth tournament of the year already and it comes to Lake Gentry. The club has not been to this usually tough lake four about 2 years and with the rising water it produced pretty good. 18 boats set out and although there were no giant bags caught the Warriors anglers did manage to weigh in 80 bass,14 limits,6 fish over 3 lbs 2 over 5 lbs and a giant 7 plus, for a total of 138.27 lb fish. Great job guys this place does not always give them up like that. Rounding out the money spots in 3rd place was Billy Myers & Barry Norton with 12.02 lbs. July Tournament

Summer is in full swing. With temperatures in mid 90′s and no wind it was brutal day to fish. Lake Kissimmee was this months lake of choice and for some the fishing was OK but for most it was very hard to get a bite. Water temps in the upper 80′s and no wind made it worst but as always someone figures them out. 17 boats this month and the Warriors anglers managed to catch 55 bass,6 limits, 6 fish over 4 lbs,4 over 5lbs. and 1 over 8 lbs for a total of 136.57 lbs of fish. Not a great showing for this body of water but welcome to summer. Rounding out the money spots in 3rd was Steve Chiavini & Scott Hair with 14.8 lbs. 2nd  went to Kevin & Lisa Heard(Welcome back) with 15.12 lbs. Top Honors go to Dale Pitstik & Glenn Dampier with 15.70 lbs. Big Fish went to Richard Murling with a Kissimmee Toad going 8.36 lbs. That fish will take over for Big Fish of the Year. Small Limit went to Kenny & Garrett Croft with 10.51 lbs.  Congrats to all the winners and we will see you next month.

June Tournament

Dog days of summer have arrived, It is June but she came in with attitude. 95 plus degrees, little to no wind and 200%  humidity makes for a tough day and the fish seem to be effected. West lake Toho was this months lake of choice and even though there were some good fish caught as a hole the weights were pretty low. 17 boats set out and the Warriors anglers managed 81 fish,15 limits, 8 fish over 4 lbs.,7 over 5 lbs.3 over 6 lbs for a total of 170.29 lbs of fish. Not the best showing but still pretty good. Rounding out the money spots in 3rd was Don Gill with 14.46 lbs. 2nd place went to Tane Crossley & Jake Lewis with 15.76 lbs. Top honors go to Don Callaghan & Richard Ralston with 16.00 lbs. Big Fish went to Jake Lewis with a TOHO TOAD that went 6.38 lbs. Congrats to everyone.

The vote is in and we are going to remove the ramp at Lake Cypress. If Lake Cypress is drawn we will be launching from Whaley’s Landing. The anglers will be allowed to stay in West Lake or lock thru to Cypress or Hatch. We will try this the remainder of the year and revisit it at the classic to see how it worked out.

Warriors May Tournament

The 2019 season is under way, This is the 16th Season for the Weekend Warriors and we are off to a great start. We have 21 teams to start the year with a few regulars not making the opening we should be right on tract to match last years successful season. Lake Cypress was the opening lake this year and to spite very low water conditions the fishing was pretty good. With 21 boats the guys managed 99 bass, 19 limits, 6 fish over 4 pounds, 3 fish over 6 lbs. for a total of 209.72 lbs of fish. Great way to start the year off. Rounding out the money spots in 4th place was Dale Pitstik & Glenn Dampier with 13.84 lbs. Coming in 3rd was Steve Chiavini & Scot Hair with 13.98 lbs. First runner up was Daren McDermott & Pete Batusis with 14.86 lbs. Top Honors go to Tane Crossley & Jake Lewis with 18.68 lbs. I am getting inquiries about moving the launch site for Cypress to Whaley’s. I will put out a survey next month so we can get a accurate account of how everyone feels. So give it some thought and we will talk about it next month.
